About Dr. McKee
Dr. David Smyth McKee, Jr., MD, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist at Birmingham OB/Gyn in Birmingham, Alabama. He has cared for women in the Birmingham community for more than 40 years, providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care across all stages of life.
Dr. McKee is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has continuously maintained his board certification since 1985. He is a long-standing member of the Birmingham medical community and has held numerous physician leadership roles at the local and state level.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. McKee serves as one of the primary physicians overseeing Birmingham OB/Gyn’s medically supervised weight loss program. In this role, he works closely with patients using evidence-based medical therapies, including GLP-1 medications, to support safe, physician-guided weight management and long-term health.
He currently practices at Birmingham OB/Gyn and holds hospital privileges at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
