Certified OBGYN Nurse Practitioner in Birmingham, AL
Leigh Wenzel grew up in Foley, Alabama. After moving to Birmingham to attend Samford University she decided to call Birmingham home. After beginning her career in Labor and Delivery, she quickly attained a passion for women’s health and pursued her Masters of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and continued her education at Samford University receiving her Doctorate in Nursing with a sub-specialty in education. Leigh is certified by the National Certification Corporation as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.
Leigh enjoys sharing her knowledge of nursing and medicine and serves as an adjunct clinical instructor for several nursing programs. Besides spending time teaching she also volunteers at a local Pregnancy Resource Center. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, exploring new places in the city, reading, working out, crafting, and spending time with her labradoodle, Maisy.
Leigh is currently seeing patients in our main office (Birmingham), but also sees patients in Trussville every Monday.
