Normal hormone levels are important to your well-being. Hormones control the activity of different cells and organs in your body. Some hormones regulate the way your body uses energy. Problems can happen when your hormone levels are out of balance, like with hypothyroidism or polycystic ovary syndrome. This can make you feel different, such as being extremely tired or having a fast heart rate. But hormone levels can drop as a result of a normal change too, like with menopause.
